Life Contained founder Jan Wencel has a gift for creating order, a zest for living in the moment, and an eagerness to teach.
She started her career in the corporate world, spending 12 years in Chicago advertising agencies. There she developed central filing systems, customized forms, and elaborate workflows to make certain ads for companies like Disney, the Wall Street Journal and UPS were launched on time, on budget and on strategy.
After returning from a year-long travel sabbatical, Jan indulged her life-long passion for organizing by forming Life Contained.
Hailing from the advertising agency world, Jan knows how to package and teach information in an engaging manner. She serves her clients with a rare combination of respect, objectivity, integrity and fun. She does not judge, but rather partners with her clients to help them find the level of personal productivity and time management they desire. She uses her grounded personality traits to provide structure and focus to enable them to make behavior changes, resulting in working in a more peaceful environment and enjoying more moments of life.
Jan is a Certified Professional Organizer® and is an active member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and NAPO-Chicago. She continually studies innovative methodologies, seeks out certifications in new areas, and sharpens her skills through writing new material and networking with other professional organizers and corporate trainers. Jan is a certified GO System productivity trainer and is a member of the Network for Productivity Excellence (NPEX) where she helps develop quality standards for the organizing profession and where she co-authored Insights on Productivity. To continually improve how she teaches adults, she is a member of the Chicagoland chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and participates in National Speakers Association (NSA) training programs.
