Paper Planner Review: Action Day Planner

The sleek design from this Iceland-headquartered company is one of the reasons the aesthetically-minded might prefer the Action Day Planner sold at Staples. The functionality of the system is likely why they will use it to get them and keep them organized.

It features:

  • Diary section
  • Super cool 2-page year calendar
  • Two-page spread for each week with room for tasks to execute, goals and projects, and projects delegated
  • 35 pages for meeting notes

I am considering this planner, and was hoping for some real feedback on its usability and effectiveness. You've told us WHAT it is, but where is the review???

The planner is beautiful, and I think it can be effective for certain people. Please tell me more about how you work, and I'll tell you whether I think it will be effective for you...or if maybe you should consider another format. For example, will you manage your appointments on this planner, or do you have an electronic way of managing them? Do you need a lot of room to take notes, or do you have another way to manage that? If you think a quick phone chat will work better, feel free to call 630.803.6650. I'm in the office much of today/tomorrow.

I use a two page per day planner from DayTimer. (Portable size) I can carry it with me, it does not "crash", and there are so many different types of add-in sheets. Plus I can save the sheets and look up dates from previous months, something that I've actually had to do.

Glad you found one you like, Edith. The two-page per day is better for folks who have a high volume of tasks and/or those who like to take a lot of notes.

I like the format of your planner. Perfect for my client time capturing. Being in a women's healthcare field, it would be nice to have something other than another plain black book on my desk. My clients have commented on how nice it was not to feel like they were just another patient. Maybe some color in your future?

I agree, Victoria. Many companies have started to add color to the outside; however, black is still the majority holder. If you really love what's on the inside of a black planner, consider personalizing the outside with color. Maybe a bumper sticker or wrapping/scrap booking paper would give it character more like you & your patients.
